Get Mooving and WIN with Premier’s Active April

No matter where you are in Greater Shepparton – it’s time to get on board with Premier’s Active April, an exciting and fun way to get active, stay healthy, and enjoy time with family and friends. Not to mention to WIN some awesome prizes.

Premier’s Active April encourages all Victorians to commit to doing 30 minutes of physical activity a day during April. It’s free, it’s fun and it’s part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to get more people active and healthy.

Anyone can participate in Active April – friends, students, families, workmates or individuals, and it’s FREE.

Register today via the Active April website www.activeapril.vic.gov.au. Just follow the easy step-by-step instructions.

Once you register for Active April, you can create teams and invite friends to join. There’s also a brand new interactive mobile app for iOS and Android to log your daily activity with the click of a button and compare progress, a digital card to access all the general offers, plus an updated Trophy Cabinet for when you meet activity goals. 

Registrations are now open and will stay open until 30 April 2017.

Greater Shepparton City Council are offering participants a number of incentives to get active, including:

  • Participate in a free pedometer challenge
  • One free pass to the Shepparton Sports Stadium older adults fitness session
  • 10 free full centre passes to Aquamoves Lakeside Shepparton including $0 joining fee (normally $50) if you join as a member in April 2017.
    • Full Centre Passes offer:
      • Access to Aquamoves’ aquatic facilities, gym, group fitness classes, a one hour personalised fitness coaching session and the Active Kids program.
      • Aquamoves’ aquatic facilities include indoor 25m and leisure pools, hydrotherapy pool, spas, sauna and water features.
      • Water features include Waterslide, Rapid River and Tarzan Swing. Note features only run during certain times.
      • Persons must be 16 years and older to access the gym, group fitness classes, hydrotherapy pool, spas and sauna.
      • For children between 3 - 15 years, the pass allows access to the indoor leisure and 25m pools, plus water features.
      • For children 5 - 12 years, the pass allows access to one Active Kids fitness session.
      • Any unused visits are not redeemable after April 2017.

Greater Shepparton has some fantastic walking paths and exercise facilities making it easy to do 30 minutes of exercise. It’s a great opportunity to compare your results against each other at the end of the challenge. Exercising with other people can help you stay on track and motivated throughout the month.
