Greater Shepparton Food Hub - SPC Ardmona KidsTown
Planning was developed in 2014 for a Regional Food Hub at SPC Ardmona KidsTown. It was envisaged the Food Hub would be a sustainable collaborative agriculture project that would maximise available land to grow fresh fruit and vegetables. The site has potential to become a regional hub providing education based programs that will enhance participant's employment opportunities, as well as the opportunity to learn about the enjoyment and benefits of local sustainable food production practices. It is envisaged the Food Hub will be sustainable, with an opportunity for social enterprise, local partnerships and volunteer involvement.
The development plan incorporates inclusion of an:
- Indigenous Community Garden
- Education Centre and Workshop
- Market Site
